Attendance is very important for success in school. Therefore, we ask that your child be present and on time to school unless he/she is sick.

Attendance Procedures

  • Students are expected to be in their classrooms at 8:00 a.m.
  • If a child arrives late to school, you must walk inside the office and sign in the child.

Dismissal Procedures

  • Bus riders are dismissed from the gym.
  • Car riders are dismissed from the front of the building.
  • When picking up your child, you must stay in the car rider lane in front of the building and remain in your car.
  • If your child is going home a different way from his/her normal means of transportation, please write a note to your child’s teacher.

Early Dismissal Procedures

  • Parents need to come into the office to sign out his/her child.
  • If a child needs to have early dismissal, please write a note to your child’s teacher informing him/her of the early dismissal. That helps in planning and assigning homework.

Absences

  • A child is marked “unexcused” until a note is sent.
  • If a child needs to stay home because of sickness, it is expected that when he/she returns that the parents will send a note stating that the child was sick. At that point, the teacher will change the absence to “excused”.
  • Five or more unexcused absences will show up on the school’s attendance report. At that time, parents may be summoned to attendance court.
