Chess is a great game for many reasons. It uses higher order thinking skills and math skills. It is offered at A.Z. Kelley for those students who are on the A-B Honor Roll or better. Students are recommended by their teacher for participation in this program. Currently, there are 40 students participating from Kindergarten through fourth grade.  The Chess Club meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Don’t tell the children it makes them smarter, they just think it is FUN!
