Saturday, April 30 the Hillsboro Cluster will host a cluster wide event on the grounds of Carter Lawrence Elementary School and the “new” Belmont/Metro Parks Athletic fields. The event will revolve around a theme that is top of mind to the schools and families: Health and Wellness.
The fair will be held from 12 - 4 p.m., and will offfer activities involving nutrition, gardening, fitness, preventive health, health screenings, and more. Council Lady Erica Gilmore will kick off the event by presenting a proclamation recognizing the Hillsboro cluster for its commitment to Healthy Lifestyles. Several students will also be recognized for their participation in the Children’s Marathon. The “Girls on the Run” program will then warm up the crowd for a mass ZUMBA class!
If that's not enough to entice you, i106 Cumulus radio station will be on hand with giveaways and live music. Guests will also be able to enjoy healthy cooking demonstrations, container gardening, free dental screenings, jump rope making, Wii Family Fitness games and competition, Inflatables and the Gil Gann Blues Band will close out the event with a live performance!
