The TLUS program is a customized Master’s degree program offered by MNPS in partnership with Peabody College at Vanderbilt University focused on improving teaching in urban school settings. The two-year program works with cohorts of teachers in high-priority middle schools to deepen their knowledge and refine their instructional skills in one of three areas: mathematics, science or literacy. Teachers in the TLUS program earn their Master’s Degree while teaching, and receive job-embedded, professional support from the faculty at Vanderbilt. The teachers in the program agree to teach in the district for an extended period of time beyond the date of graduation.
